She had opened up a lead that looked comfortable through fifty-four holes, then made three bogeys in a row on the back nine and watched the gap she had built over three days shrink to almost nothing. By her own admission, panic arrived. She held on anyway, closing with a three-over 75 that was nobody&rsquo;s idea of a coronation, to finish at nine-under 279 and beat A Lim Kim by two shots. It was Shin&rsquo;s first LPGA title since the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout in May 2016, a gap of 3,738 days and 236 starts.</p>
